Ligue 1 new-boys Clermont Foot have warned Lionel Messi against signing for Paris Saint-Germain.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll be well aware that arguably the greatest player of all-time appears to be on the verge of moving to the Parc des Princes.
Messi will reportedly be linking up with Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and a host of other superstars in Paris, with Mauricio Pochettino’s men now firm favourites to regain the Ligue 1 title, if they weren’t already.

Last year’s Ligue 1 title race was as competitive as it’s ever been, though. Things won’t be straightforward for Messi and PSG, especially with Clermont Foot having joined the hunt.

The newly-promoted French minnows’ showcased their sense of humour by suggesting Messi ought to rethink his move to Paris after their 2-0 win over Bordeaux put them on the top of the table.

Clermont Foot have never played top-flight football before, but put three points on the board early doors after two goals beyond the 80th minute saw them defeat a lacklustre Bordeaux side.
You wouldn’t expect them to ACTUALLY pose a challenge for the league this campaign, but stranger things have happened…
