Christian Horner has formally left Red Bull following his sacking as team principal in July.
Horner was one of the major architects behind Red Bull’s massive success in F1, and he has been in charge of the team since their inception in 2005.
During his time, he has led Red Bull to eight drivers’ championships and six constructors’ championships titles.
According to a report from BBC Sport, he had a salary of 12m euros (£10m) a year and a contract to 2030.
Horner was dismissed after a controversial 18 months that started when a female employee accused him of sexual harassment, an allegation that was made public in February 2024.
According to a report from The Sun, he has been handed a whopping £80m to leave Red Bull.
That is indeed a massive sum, and it also means that he’s free to return to F1 as early as next year.
Horner was replaced by Laurent Mekies, who stepped up from sister squad Racing Bulls.
It is unclear where Horner will end up next, but Alpine has been touted as a possible destination because of his friendship with executive adviser Flavio Briatore.
