Christian Benteke stole the show in a fantastic display against Bordeaux in the UEFA Europa League at Anfield tonight.
Benteke was involved in all of Liverpool’s goals (allowed and disallowed) and showed positive signs especially considering the announcement that Daniel Sturridge is injured once again.
The Liverpool striker was on the scoresheet early into the first half but unfortunately was deemed to be offiside. It wasn’t long until the frontman was back in the thick of it as he won his side penalty just moments after Liverpool conceded due to a Simon Mignolet error.

The Belgian was soon on the scoresheet again right on the brink of half-time as he thumped the Reds into the lead with a beautiful strike from just inside the box.

Benteke was on the scoresheet again in the second half but was again ruled offside bringing his total tally of disallowed goals to two on the night.
Liverpool went on to win the game 2-1 and qualified for the next round after what a very satisfying performance from Jurgen Klopp’s side.
