Two Chorley fans had an ingenious idea to rent a cherry picker so they could watch their side play in a vital FA Cup clash with Derby without breaking Covid-19 rules in football pitches.
I’m sure Chorley fans were deeply saddened when their non league side were drawn against Derby in the 3rd round of the FA Cup to then find out they would not be allowed go to the ground to watch the match. Well two Chorley fans were not going to let a few rules get in their way as they found the ultimate loophole as they can be seen using a Cherry Picker outside of the stadium to look over the wall and into the pitch.
They were able to witness a major upset as a Chorley are currently in the 6th tier of English football and were able to knock out Championship side Derby County. Derby’s first team were hit with an outbreak of Covid-19 recently and the whole squad was self isolating with management only able to choose from youth player but this doesn’t take away from Chorley FC’s massive achievement.
"Well if you've got a cherry picker you may as well use it…"
