Chelsea are reportedly planning to HIJACK Manchester United’s pursuit of their top summer transfer target.
Since day one of the summer transfer window, with Erik ten Hag in charge at Old Trafford, signing Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong has been top of Man United’s agenda.
They have failed to achieve that thus far, with Barcelona’s valuation, and de Jong’s resistance, both proving to be difficult obstacles for United to overcome.
They have not yet thrown in the towel, though, with Man United continuing their efforts to tempt de Jong into a move to the club before the window closes.
In what could provide further jeopardy from United’s perspective, local outlet SPORT report that Chelsea are now planning to hijack United’s pursuit of de Jong.
With Todd Boehly looking to satisfy Thomas Tuchel’s own transfer demands, a move is reportedly set to be made to bring de Jong to Chelsea.
That would undoubtedly cheese off ten Hag, with Man United having had a clear run at de Jong thus far. Let’s wait and see how it all plays out…
