Chelsea have reportedly made an approach to steal one of Arsenal’s most promising young talents.

Chelsea have received much acclaim in recent years for the sheer number of top quality players that their Cobham academy has produced. Of course, a lot of that praise is entirely deserved, but they have also poached some very talented players from other academies across the country and Europe.

The Blues appear keen on continuing to do that in order to strengthen their academy ranks and lay foundations for first-team success in the future, with Goal reporting that the club have made an approach to sign one of the most talented, promising young players currently on the books at Arsenal.

Khayon Edwards, who has 17 goals and six assists in 22 games this season across various levels of youth football, is wanted by Chelsea, who have already approached his representatives and plan to swoop to sign him as soon as their precarious ownership situation is resolved in a few weeks time.

Edwards is not understood to have yet decided to leave Arsenal, with the Gunners believed to still be working on the idea of tying him down to a new contract, but the prospect of playing for Chelsea, considering how successful their academy has been in recent years, must be tempting for the 18-year-old.
