Chelsea star Mason Mount has undergone surgery to fix an infected wisdom tooth, reports Football.London.

Mount is one of Chelsea’s most important players, with his productivity on the ball and industrial nature off it making him an immediate favourite of Thomas Tuchel.

Unfortunately for Chelsea, they had to head into their clash with Burnley on Saturday without their talisman fit enough to start from the beginning – and it showed.

Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Sean Dyche’s men in a contest that proved that Ross Barkley is not a good enough alternative to his England international teammate.

Barkley may well fancy his chances of getting in the team again in the coming weeks, though, with Mount having his off the pitch problems at current.

As is reported by Football.London, Mount has had to undergo surgery to repair an infected wisdom tooth and is now a doubt to feature for England over the international break.

England have enough quality in reserve in the forward positions to survive without Mount, but Tuchel will be cursing his midfielder’s rotten luck. He really needs him fit and firing…
