Chelsea suffer MAJOR injury blow ahead of top of the table clash with Liverpool this Sunday

Chelsea have suffered a major injury blow during the first-half of their clash with Brighton, with Reece James having limped off in a significant amount of pain.

The Blues have already had to battle through a mountain of injury problems and COVID-19 isolations in over the past few weeks, hence the recent blip, yet they found themselves level with Liverpool heading into tonight’s game.

Thomas Tuchel’s men have the opportunity to go above the Reds with a win ahead of their tussle with them on Sunday at Stamford Bridge. As the teams broke for half-time, everything was perfectly poised with Chelsea in the lead, but with one glaringly obvious negative.

Reece James, who has arguably been their player of the season so far, went down in quite a severe amount of pain and gingerly limped off the pitch with the help of the medical staff. It remains to be seen when we’ll see him again, but it definitely won’t be on Sunday.

Reports out of the stadium suggest that James has suffered a hamstring injury. To be limping off in that manner, it certainly gives the impression that it’s a bad one. We’ll have to wait for him to undergo a scan, but you can safely take him out of your Fantasy Premier League teams for the foreseeable…
