The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has revealed that there have been NO contract talks, despite his client entering the final 18 months of his deal.
Jorginho has enjoyed a memorable 2021, having won the Champions League with Chelsea and the European Championship with Italy. As a result of his accomplishments and good performances throughout them, he placed third in the Ballon D’Or rankings on Monday night.
Thomas Tuchel will be absolutely delighted to have the former Napoli man at his disposal, with Jorginho comfortably being one of the best midfielders on the planet right now. However, there are doubts emerging over his long-term future at Stamford Bridge.
The player’s agent has revealed that there has been no dialogue between him and Chelsea over the possibility of extending Jorginho’s contract, despite the 29-year-old having just 18 months left on his contract with the club when the January transfer window opens.
Jorginho’s agent João Santos: “We’re not in talks to extend the current deal with Chelsea. He’s still under contract until June 2023 – maybe we’ll open talks in the next months”, he said to TMW. 🔵🇮🇹 #CFC

The real question from Chelsea’s perspective is whether they plan on offering Jorginho a lucrative new deal, considering he will be 31-years-old when his current one hits the expiration date.
The last thing that Marina Granovskaia and co want is to have a declining player on their books picking up a wage that reflected their world-class status at the time of negotiating.
