Who is Todd Boehly? US billionaire announced as 'preferred bidder' to buy Chelsea
Todd Boehly (pictured) is to be named the preferred bidder to buy Chelsea

According to a report published by The Sun, LA Dodgers boss Todd Boehly is to be selected as the ‘preferred bidder’ and will enter the final stages of negotiations to buy Chelsea.

Boehly has been regarded as a frontrunner for some time and his lengthy discussions with U.S bank the Raine Group appear to have been fruitful, with Chelsea likely to now become his club.

It is suggested that the eleventh-hour bid from Jim Ratcliffe has not yet been entirely discounted, but he’d do well to jostle himself ahead of Boehly and his consortium at this point.
