Chelsea finish summer with extraordinary profit margin despite signing Romelu Lukaku and Saul Niguez

Chelsea recorded a £38m profit in the summer transfer window, despite recruiting two top-class players in Romelu Lukaku and Saul Niguez.

Much is said about Chelsea’s transfer business, with Marina Granovskaia being one of the most shrewd negotiators in the game.

Fans from rival clubs are often envious at the way Marina manages to shift off the deadwood in lucrative deals and sign the best in the business for sums that reflect good value.

She’s done it again this summer, with Romelu Lukaku and Saul Niguez coming in from Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid respectively for a combined cost of £97.5m, as per The Sun.

That report notes that Chelsea have also banked an incredible £140m through player sales this summer, which sees them record an overall profit of around £38m.

The champions of Europe have signed two quality players to directly improve the squad, all while leaving a huge sum of cash untouched.

That’ll give Chelsea the opportunity to do further business either in January or next summer without running into the red. Marina really is magic, isn’t she?
