Chelsea make difficult N’Golo Kante decision after latest injury setback

Chelsea have reportedly decided to part ways with N’Golo Kante after his latest injury setback ruled him out of the World Cup.

Kante has been one of the finest midfielders on the planet for several years now, with Chelsea the club fortunate enough to benefit from that.

Unfortunately for Chelsea, Kante’s availability has decreased considerably over the last two years, with the Frenchman suffering recurring injuries.

As is reported by L’Equipe, Kante’s latest injury setback, which will rule him out for up to three months, could be the final straw from Chelsea’s standpoint.

Kante is Chelsea’s highest earner and one of the best-paid in the Premier League, but that money could be better spent elsewhere if he is unable to stay fit.

With Kante out of contract next summer, L’Equipe’s understanding is that Chelsea have made the difficult decision to allow his deal to expire.

Kante may well go on to enjoy success elsewhere, but there would be little justification for Chelsea handing him a lucrative extension at this point.
