Chelsea major transfer fumble rubbed in their faces by Premier League rivals

Have Chelsea made a gigantic mistake in the transfer market… by letting go of Marc Guehi?

The Blues are not ordinarily renowned for giving their home-grown younger players a chance, but that’s changed in recent seasons.

Mason Mount and Reece James started in the Champions League final, while Tammy Abraham and Callum Hudson-Odoi have also had roles to play.

However, those coming through at the Cobham academy are clearly still not convinced that they’ll get an opportunity to impress, with a mass exodus having happened this summer.

Lewis Bate, Myles Peart-Harris, Dynel Simeu, Tino Livramento and Marc Guehi have all walked out the door, with the latter potentially being the Blues’ biggest fumble.

Crystal Palace have taken to Twitter to rub Chelsea’s mistake in their face, having totalled up Guehi’s numbers from their pre-season win over Watford…

Guehi also appears to have some tekkers in his locker, which’ll do nothing to dampen Chelsea fans’ disappointment that he’s no longer on their books.

Especially with Romelu Lukaku set to return to Stamford Bridge, who’d bet against them splashing out to re-sign Guehi at some point in the future?
