Chelsea are reportedly showing an interest in signing Barcelona full-back Sergino Dest.
Chelsea’s wing-back pairing of Ben Chilwell and Reece James were influential during the Blues’ early-season form which saw Thomas Tuchel’s men sit top of the Premier League table.
However, Chilwell has since been ruled out for the season after damaging his anterior cruciate ligament. Marcos Alonso is not sufficient cover for Chelsea down that left channel.
As a result, the club could be forced into the transfer market in the January window, with Mundo Deportivo reporting that Sergino Dest could be one player courted.

The 21-year-old American is capable of playing down both sides, with that versatility making him the ideal utility man for Tuchel in the absence of either James or Chilwell.
He also has the potential to be one of the world’s leading full-backs, even if he is currently raw and has plenty of room for growth and development.
It remains to be seen how much the Catalan giants would demand in exchange for Dest, but should he prove too costly, Everton’s Lucas Digne is mentioned in the report as a possible alternative.
