After announcing the appointment of their new technical director Christopher Vivell from RB Leipzig, Chelsea are extremely keen to wrap up a deal for another of the club’s star players.
The club are believed to have agreed a deal to sign Christopher Nkunku in the summer, with Fabrizio Romano giving the ‘Here We Go’ for the signing last week and now it looks as if Chelsea are closing in on another of Leipzig’s players in Josko Gvardiol.

The Blues are said to have done more groundwork than any of Europe’s elite to sign the Croatian defender as their continuing raid of RB Leipzig intensifies.

Back in September, Gvardiol spoke about the rumours linking him with a move to the Stamford Bridge, saying: “I’m happy at Leipzig, I still have a lot to learn and need to work on myself. I have people who deal with it, I didn’t think about a transfer. We’ll see what happens in the winter.”
Gvardiol was one of the best defenders at the Qatar World Cup and if Chelsea were to sign him, it would certainly signal some serious intent from the Blues that they are ready to challenge for major trophies once again.
