Chelsea have emerged as frontrunners to sign Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero in the summer transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.
It was announced this week that Aguero would be leaving the Etihad after a decade of exemplary service, during which he established himself as one of the club’s greatest of all-time.
All good things have to come to an end at some point, but while it’s the end of the line for Aguero at City, at 32-years-old he could potentially still have plenty to offer another side.
As mentioned by the Daily Mail, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are all linked with the Argentine, but at current, it’s City’s Premier League rivals Chelsea who lead the way.
According to the Daily Mail, Aguero wants to stay in England, which gives Chelsea the advantage over their fellow European heavyweights.
With Thomas Tuchel in dire need of a striker capable of finding the back of the net on a regular basis, the stars may well be aligning. Could this be the Blues’ payback for Frank Lampard?
