Chelsea ace hires a driver through fear of impending driving ban with court date in the calendar

Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley has reportedly hired a driver through fear that he’s set to be slapped with a driving ban.

Barkley, who has made more notable contributions to the back pages of the tabloids than he has on a football pitch since signing for Chelsea, has previous driving offences on his record for speeding, as reports The Sun.

The former England international, who has probably fallen out of the top 30 midfielders Gareth Southgate would consider giving a call-up, has now landed himself in hot water with the authorities once again.

As is mentioned in the report by The Sun, Barkley is accused of using his phone while driving his £150,000 Mercedes-AMG in South West London last summer.

It’s claimed that he has now hired a driver for the next year in anticipation that he will be hit with a driving ban. He will have confirmation of his fate when he heads to court next month.

It’s yet another taint to Barkley’s image. The former Everton midfielder was branded ‘the next Wayne Rooney’ after coming through with the Toffees. He has royally wasted his career.
