Chelsea are getting closer to tying up two contract extensions for key members of the squad, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Chelsea fans feared that a crisis was beginning to materialise at Stamford Bridge after Thiago Silva, Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen ALL entered the final 12 months of their contracts.
The four make up the bulk of Chelsea’s back three that has (usually) been so reliable since Thomas Tuchel took the reins from Frank Lampard back in January of this year.
While there are still concerns that Rudiger’s wage demands may be too high and there has not been any definitive movement on the Azpilicueta front, there is some good news for Chelsea fans to celebrate.

According to Sky Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, Thiago Silva is set to sign a new one-year extension, with Christensen on the verge of agreeing terms over a FOUR-year contract.
Silva, despite his grand old age, has been phenomenal for Chelsea since joining on a free transfer, while Christensen too has had a brilliant calendar year and looks to be the future of the Blues’ back-line.
