NIGHTMARE for Chelsea with Nike reconsidering enormous 15-year kit partnership

Chelsea could be set to make an enormous £540m loss with Nike reconsidering their relationship with the club, according to the Daily Mail.

Chelsea are a club under the microscope at current, with Roman Abramovich thought to have close enough ties with Vladimir Putin for the UK government to justify their sanctioning of him.

His assets have been frozen, Chelsea being one, with the Blues’ financial future uncertain. The only way out of this mess appears to be a quick sale, but it’s unclear how plausible that is.

Even if a new owner does eventually come in and inject cash, considerable damage may well have already been done to the club’s books, as is suggested in a report by the Daily Mail.

It claims that Nike are now reconsidering their 15-year, £900m deal with Chelsea, and if they were to end it early, the Blues would stand to miss out on a whopping £540m.

Of course, losing that sort of cash would make the club less attractive to any potential buyers, so it’s yet another reason for fans of the West London club to be concerned.

Especially when you consider that mobile network 3 have already jumped ship, it could be a sign of what’s to come for Chelsea over the coming weeks and months.
