Chelsea could FOLD if Roman Abramovich is not successful in selling the club within an 81-day window, reports The Sun.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll be well aware that Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK government on Thursday, with all his assets having been frozen.
As a consequence, while Chelsea are able to continue operating, they are essentially doing so while financially handcuffed with serious uncertainty over what the future holds.
A report published by The Sun will do little to ease the anxiety of the Chelsea supporters, with the information provided casting doubt over the future existence of the Blues.

So claims the report, Roman Abramovich will have to find a buyer for Chelsea within 81 days or the club will fold – it will essentially cease to exist.
That is very much the worst-case scenario and it’s unclear how likely that is to materialise, but the mere prospect of it will be frightening enough for the supporters, no doubt.
The biggest concern from Chelsea’s perspective is that, as things stand, Abramovich would earn absolutely nothing through any sale – so what’s in it for him?
