Chelsea are reportedly closing in on the signing of Jules Kounde from Sevilla, despite late interest from Barcelona.
Chelsea have been long linked with a move for Kounde. Their interest in signing the France international dates all the way back to the previous summer transfer window.
The assumption was that they would complete the signing early in this summer’s transfer market, but the change of ownership brought renewed priorities.
Chelsea instead prioritised signing Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, but that’s not to say that Kounde won’t still arrive at Stamford Bridge.
According to Todo Fichajes, Chelsea are close to signing and sealing a deal to bring Kounde from Sevilla to West London.
It’s claimed that Barcelona have shown late interest in hijacking the transfer, but Chelsea are now understood to be close to getting a deal done.
That would be yet another statement signing by Chelsea in this year’s transfer market. Todd Boehly and co really are making waves already…
