The travelling contingent of Chelsea supporters at Turf Moor felt as though it was appropriate to chant Roman Abramovich’s name during a minute’s applause for Ukraine.
The players, staff and everyone else in attendance at the ground took a moment to show solidarity for the people of Ukraine, who have endured terror on their streets since Vladimir Putin made the contemptible decision to invade the country.
Unfortunately, what ought to have been a nice moment of respect was marred by certain imbeciles within the Chelsea fanbase who decided to chant Roman Abramovich’s name during the minute’s applause.
We’re not sure why on earth they deemed this appropriate, but it was rightly met by roaring boos from the Burnley supporters. We hope that Chelsea will give their fans’ heads a wobble ahead of their trip to Carrow Road…
