Liverpool flop Charlie Adam brilliantly pokes fun at himself over ten-year-old Sergio Aguero tweet

Former Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has showcased his brilliant sense of humour by poking fun at himself over a ten-year-old tweet.

Rewind to 2011, with Adam, a star for relegated Blackpool, making the move to Anfield for a £7.5M fee, as reported by the Guardian.

Adam’s transfer to Liverpool didn’t quite pan out as planned, with the Scotsman struggling to make his mark on Merseyside.

It’s very different performing at a club like Blackpool, where the spotlight rarely shines on you, compared to Liverpool, where it never leaves.

Charlie Adam’s move to Anfield was a disaster for all involved.

Adam learnt that the hard way, but there doesn’t appear to be any disappointment on his part. That emotion has seemingly faded as the years passed.

The now Dundee F.C midfielder took to Twitter to poke fun at himself with the use of a new meme format, birthed by Sergio Aguero against Paris Saint-Germain.

That take from Oliver Holt, which unfortunately still haunts him a decade on, will surely go down as one of the worst football predictions ever.

Sergio Aguero will leave the Premier League as one of the greatest players ever to compete in it. The same can’t be said about Charlie Adam.
