Former Liverpool and Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam has reportedly been arrested by police on suspicion of drink-driving.
Adam had a lengthy career in the Premier League which spanned across spells with Blackpool, Liverpool and Stoke City. He also made 26 appearances for the Scottish National Team.
Now 36-years-old, Adam plays his football with Dundee in his native Scotland, where he is accused of striking a tree with his car before being arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
As is reported by The Sun, Adam landed himself in hot water after the incident which is believed to have happened in the early hours of Monday morning, with the veteran allegedly under the influence of alcohol while behind the wheel.
His current employers Dundee have acknowledged the incident but revealed they will not be making any comment on the allegations against Adam, whose alleged offences have been passed onto a prosecutor.

The Sun’s report includes comments from a local who heard the alleged incident take place: “I heard a loud bang outside and then silence.”
“I didn’t think much more of it because you hear cars going up and down that road all the time. It wasn’t until the next morning I noticed a big gouge out of the tree. I was just hoping no one had been hurt.”
The only significant damage done appears to have been done to the tree referred to by the local. Adam is not believed to have sustained any injuries in the alleged collision with the said tree.
