Ahead of the end of one of Formula 1’s most dramatic season’s ever, Channel 4 have announced that they will be showing the finale as part of a partnership with Sky Sports.
Normally, Sky Sports have the sole rights to the live race action, only devolving those rights for the home grand prix at Silverstone. However, as per the BBC, this week will see Sky allow Channel 4 to broadcast it.
The details of the deal indicate that the race, being held in Abu Dhabi, will be covered via Sky coverage, but the pre and post-race analysis will be Channel 4’s own.
Channel 4 do normally have a highlights show on after every race, and used to be the UK broadcaster for the sport before it was taken over by Sky Sports.

With the season finale set to conclude one of sport’s greatest modern rivalries, F1 legend Lewis Hamilton versus usurper Max Verstappen, it is no wonder Channel 4 wanted to get their hands on this race.
The pair are level on points going into the final race, something that has not occurred since 1974, when McLaren’s Emerson Fittipaldi and Ferrari’s Clay Regazzoni went head to head.
It is the only other time this has happened in F1’s 71 year history.
If you have nothing better to do this Sunday around 1pm, stick the kettle on, get comfy and switch on for what is set to be one of the most dramatic finale’s to an F1 season ever.
