Cesar Azpilicueta posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed giving a thumbs up and smiling after suffering a serious injury against Southampton on Saturday.
Chelsea lost to the Saints in devastating fashion on Saturday afternoon and cemented their position as a mid-table side this season.

But they also suffered a serious injury when Azpilicueta was horrifically kicked in the face by Southampton’s Sekou Mara when he attempted to kick the football mid-air.
Cesar Azpilicueta had to be stretchered off the pitch after taking a kick from Sékou Mara.

The Spanish defender was reportedly unconscious and had to be given oxygen before being stretchered off the pitch.
Thankfully he is alright and sent a positive message to fans with a picture of him sitting upright in a hospital bed.
