‘Catch me if you can’ – Anthony Elanga hits mind-blowing top speed on track

Newcastle United have agreed a fee of around £55m with Nottingham Forest for Swedish winger Anthony Elanga.

The 23-year-old was outstanding last season for Forest. He scored six goals and produced 11 assists for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side during their successful 2024-25 Premier League season.

The deal is expected to be completed by the end of this week.

Elanga has been impressing with his running efforts as he showed off his insane 100m sprint time.

He has been filmed practicing his 100m sprints on a running track.

His numbers have been impressive as the ace’s trainer declared: “Catch me if you can.”

Elanga hit a mind-blowing top speed of 24.7 miles per hour, which means he ran faster than any vehicle in London.

And that’s only 1.35 seconds slower than the world record, which was set by Usain Bolt in 2009.

Elanga joined Forest from Manchester United for £15m in 2023, where he’d scored four times in 55 outings.

Newcastle will play in the Champions League in the upcoming season, and with Elanga on the side, their attack (already featuring Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon) will only get better.
