The former Barcelona and Spanish defender Carles Puyol caused a bit of a stir today on the internet when himself and his former teammate Iker Casillas decided to make a immature joke about how the two of them want to come out as lovers.
This blew up this morning across the world, since then Casillas has deleted the tweet claming he was hacked and now Puyol is owning up for his mistake, instead of going with the hacked story.

"I was wrong. Sorry for this clumsy joke without bad intention and totally misplaced. I understand that it may have hurt. All my respect and support for the LGTBQIA+ community." pic.twitter.com/0e7bM4eX6P

At least the former defender has taken responsibility for his mistake, we all make mistakes and don’t think at times, for Casillas to say his account was hacked is a little like the dog ate my homework. This will be old news by end of the day, but still not great from two former greats of the game and two that many still look up to.
