Carl Froch has revealed his desire to come out of retirement and fight YouTuber Jake Paul.
Paul has been making waves in the boxing realm with multiple triumphs over former MMA fighters. He hasn’t, of course, fought an actual boxer.
One has now laid down the gauntlet, however, a former world champion, albeit one that hasn’t fought in several years – he goes by the name of Carl Froch.
Froch, speaking in a recent interview, revealed his willingness to come out of retirement and take Paul to the cleaners, were he prepared to fight him.
Carl Froch: “If I could have one last fight it’d be Jake Paul. I’d absolutely smash him to bits, easy. Jake Paul can’t fight, he’s pretending…. I’d take Jake Paul to school and hammer him. He wouldn’t fight me. No chance.” [@WilliamHill]

Ultimately, that’s not a fight that makes sense for either party. Froch is retired and has a media career, he need not risk being knocked out by a YouTuber.
From Paul’s perspective, while Froch was a boxer, he’s not anymore. He’s not going to gain credibility by fighting ex-boxers long into retirement.
Froch is also not as big a name as he once was. Paul could fight an MMA fighter or social media star and make more money out of it.
