Canelo Alvarez’s manager Eddy Reynoso has poured cold water on reports that he is set to agree a two-fight deal with Matchroom Boxing.
ESPN had reported that Canelo was on the verge of signing an agreement with Eddie Hearn to fight WBA Light Heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol and long-time rival Gennadiy Golovkin.
As per the report, the deal was estimated to be worth upwards of $85m. It would rank as one of the biggest paydays of the Mexican’s career, were he to sign along the dotted line.
However, while it still remains a possibility, manager Eddy Reynoso has released a classic iPhone ‘Notes’ statement revealing that there is NOTHING concrete and they are still yet to formally decide their next move.

The report by ESPN had a lot of boxing fans excited, especially at the prospect of a trilogy bout with Golovkin. However, we are all being forced to wait that little bit longer for official communication.
Considering the immense numbers behind this deal, or at least how they have been reported, you imagine Hearn will be at home sweating over the possibility of missing out…
