It has been revealed that the cab driver involved in Roy Keane’s January road rage incident was in fact Mick McCarthy.
Sources have discovered that Keane’s former Ireland international manager drives a Taxi to make a few extra quid on the side.
A close friend of Mr.McCarthy said “That bollocks makes enough money as it is. He’s a tight bastard, there’s no need for him to be driving a cab.”
Mr.McCarthy’s tightness has caused trouble in the past, most notably when he wouldn’t pay for proper facilities for Ireland’s World Cup 2002 preparations.
Initially the incident in question was not very serious but when Mr.Keane realised who the driver of the cab was he immediately turned violent.
A passer by claims that Mr.Keane rammed Mr.McCarthy’s Taxi while gesturing to him with his other hand. The car subsequently burst into flames with Mr.McCarthy narrowly escaping with his life.
The witness also claims to have heard Mr.Keane shouting “I told ya I’d get ya back ya fuckin’ langer.”
Roy Keane was today found ‘Not Guilty’ of the above charges as Mr.McCarthy did not show up to testify.
Police have since filed a missing persons report as Mr.McCarthy has not been seen for some time.
When asked about Mr.McCarthy’s whereabouts Mr.Keane responded “I dunno where he is, and honestly I don’t care. He wasn’t prepared in 2002 and he wasn’t prepared today. The man is a joke.”
Mr.Keane is due back in court this September for assaulting a man in the public gallery after his mobile phone went off during the hearing.
