Fabrizio Romano provides HUGE update on Bruno Fernandes’ Manchester United future

The ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on contract talks between Manchester United and Bruno Fernandes.

Fernandes joined the Red Devils during the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer era. His remarkable performances convinced supporters that the tides were turning at Old Trafford, but his efforts alone were not sufficient.

The deficit between United and the title competitors was, and remains, considerable, with Fernandes’ direct goal contributions not so much as making a dent into it. Even now, with his performance level having dropped, some are beginning to point the finger at him.

Unjustly, of course, he is one of merely a handful of players at Manchester United that are worth keeping around, which is why the club have reportedly addressed his contract situation as a matter of urgency, or so reports the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano.

Tying Fernandes down to a long-term contract would be a major coup for Man United. It’s worth noting that they have been unable to do so for Paul Pogba, who appears set to leave the club on a Bosman when the summer transfer window opens.

Of course, they will need to invest heavily into the squad in order to bring them up to standard, but ensuring that Fernandes will be a part of the future of the club is a good starting block to build from.
