Yves Bissouma set to play for Brighton this weekend… despite arrest over alleged sexual assault

Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma is set to feature for Brighton at the weekend, despite having been arrested over alleged sexual assault, according to The Sun.

Brighton confirmed that a player of theirs had been arrested a week ago, but the player in question was not named while the police investigation continued into the alleged offences.

Still, The Sun have named the alleged offender offender as Yves Bissouma, arguably Brighton’s best player, and one that manager Graham Potter can ill afford to be without.

According to the report, he is not planning for life without the Mali international and is set to select him as Brighton visit Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.

Bissouma is innocent until proven guilty so there really ought to be no reason not to play him, unless the club are aware of significant evidence of any wrongdoing.

Brighton fans are likely to have mixed feelings over his inclusion in the team while reportedly under investigation for such an offence. That will be put to the back of their mind with a victory at Carrow Road.
