The largest wage bill in the Premier League has been revealed – and neither of the Manchester clubs are leading the way.

It’s safe to say that the wage structures of Premier League clubs have been demolished in recent seasons as player demands increase exponentially.

Players are becoming keenly aware of the enormous financial firepower held by their employers and are looking to exploit it at every turn.

The figures being paid to certain individuals on a weekly basis are becoming increasingly difficult to stomach.

Though, while the highest-paid footballer in the Premier League is Cristiano Ronaldo and he is followed by Kevin De Bruyne and David De Gea, it is neither of the Manchester clubs who have the highest wage bill in the division.

It is, as is reported by the Daily Mail, citing new information shared by the Times, Chelsea.

The Blues are understood to have received a further cash injection from Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, with several key players having wage hikes triggered by their Champions League triumph.

As a result, they have been forced to fork out a record £333m in wages for the financial year, more than any of their Premier League rivals.
