Fans of Besiktas and Antalyaspor threw toys onto the pitch during a league match to be given to young survivors of the earthquake.

The disaster hit Turkey and Syria three weeks ago, with the nations still reeling from the damage it has caused but amid the atrocities, people are doing all they can to help the stricken countries.

The organisers of the Qatar World Cup are reportedly sending 10,000 of the ‘containers’ that were used for fan accommodation at the tournament to Turkey and Syria as emergency shelter, and now football supporters have done something themselves to help those affected.

In yesterday’s clash between Besiktas and Antalyaspor in Turkey, fans began throwing toys onto the pitch, with the aim for those toys to be given to the children that have had their lives turned upside down by the events in the country.
