(Video) HOW? Christian Benteke misses absolute sitter in Leeds vs Palace

Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke missed an absolute SITTER during his side’s clash with Leeds United this evening.

Benteke has had purple patches and lengthy dry spells during his time as a Premier League forward, but one thing we do know is that he’s one of the best headerers of a football in the division.

After Wilfried Zaha stood up a delightful cross to the back post and saw Benteke was there to meet it, the Ivorian must have been convinced that Palace were going to be one goal to the good.

However, against all odds, Benteke managed to miss the target with the goal at his mercy. You’d have bet your house on the Belgian rippling the back of the net from here…

If Crystal Palace aren’t able to go on to win this game, Patrick Vieira and the rest of the squad are going to have some questions to ask of their centre-forward in the dressing room.

At this level, in games as tight as this one has been at Elland Road this evening, you quite simply have to be finishing those kind of chances. It’s no wonder Odsonne Edouard starts ahead of him…
