WATCH: MMA veteran Charles Bennet suffers brutal knockout to lose his 17th consecutive fight

Featherweight fighter Charles Bennett suffered his seventeenth straight defeat at Gamebred FC 2 on Saturday night… and it was a bad one.

Bennett was a dangerous fighter in the first decade of the new millennium, but has been miserably past his best in recent years.

Unfortunately for the American, he has continued to compete some way past his sell by date, with there clearly being nobody in his circle who cares enough about his wellbeing to tell him that it’s time to stop.

Though he is now 41-years-old, Bennett is still competing in MMA and the BKFC, with very limited success.

Bennett took to the octagon with Rob Emerson at Gamebred FC 2 over the weekend and suffered a brutal knockout, the kind which epitomises why he should no longer be fighting.

He was quite clearly out on his feet after a combination of punches from Emerson landed, yet the referee didn’t intervene and let Bennett’s opponent land an undefended right hand right on his chin.

It was his seventeenth straight defeat. Someone needs to have a word in his ear.
