WWE Wanted to Build Brock Lesar as a Gay Tough Guy

Posted by

When making his debut back in 2002, WWE originally planned for Brock Lesnar to portray a tough guy main eventer that was also a homosexual, according to this week’s installment of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The idea was pitched to Stephanie McMahon by WWE magazine writer Brian Solomon, as he figured it would blow away the fan base and everyone to have an unstoppable hyper-masculine ass kicker revealing himself to be gay and pushed as a top babyface.

The idea was to also get huge support from the gay community, however some of the older agents thought the idea was terrible and the idea was dropped. Eventually the gimmick was awarded to Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo.
