Ben Chilwell makes BIG admission after Borussia Dortmund loss

Chelsea left back Ben Chilwell has admitted that the Blues need to play better after their loss to Borussia Dortmund last night.

Graham Potter’s side played very well last night on the whole, creating several chances but they just could not find the back of the net.

It was a tight match for 90 minutes and Dortmund claimed victory, taking advantage of a lack of Chelsea defenders back from their own corner, with Karim Adeyemi running the length of the pitch and getting past the sole man back in Enzo Fernandez and rounding Kepa to score for his side.

After the match, Chilwell admitted that a lot more is expected from a club of Chelsea’s size.

It is not ideal. We’d have loved to have won or taken the clean sheet. They took their chance, we didn’t take ours, that is what happens at this level.

Fortunately, we’ve got a second leg now at Stamford Bridge.

We’re going to look forward to the weekend first but going into that game at Stamford Bridge, we’re going to take the positives knowing we’ve come here and played well, threatened and created chances.

Chelsea is a massive club with massive standards. Our fans were excellent today and are wherever we go.

We’re working hard to repay them in matches. We’ve got an exciting squad and I’m sure we’ll turn it around soon.”

The return leg between the two sides is on March 7th, with the Blues needing nothing less than a win if they are to progress.
