Barcelona gazumped by Manchester United and Chelsea in efforts to extend 22-year-old’s deal

Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo reportedly has offers from both Manchester United and Chelsea.

Araujo, who is only 22-years-old, has established himself as a key figure at the Nou Camp and looks to have a bright future in a Barcelona shirt.

However, it’s worth remembering that the Catalan giants are not competing at the level that they once were. They are no longer considered the crème de la crème of European football.

There’s a legitimate possibility that their players could be tempted away from the club, should there be an offer enticing enough to turn their heads.

According to journalist Oriol Domènech, Araujo has TWO of them – from Manchester United and Chelsea.

The financial proposals from the two Premier League heavyweights are understood to be “infinitely better” than the money put on the table by Barcelona.

The time could soon come for Araujo to decide whether he really wants to play for Barcelona – or if he wants to earn more money and compete for the highest honours elsewhere.
