Barcelona and Real Madrid are both reportedly interested in offering Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang an escape route in the January transfer window.
Aubameyang was previously considered one of the best strikers in the Premier League, but his performances took a drastic nosedive after he signed a new bumper contract with Arsenal.
The Gabonese striker seemingly put his feet up after securing the biggest contract of his career, with his relationship with manager Mikel Arteta also having deteriorated to the point of collapse.
It now appears likely that Aubameyang will be leaving the Emirates when the January transfer window opens, but that’s not to say that his time at the top level is to come to an end.

According to Todo Fichajes, both Barcelona and Real Madrid are open to the possibility of signing Aubameyang next month.
That could potentially be on a short-term loan deal until the end of the season, with or without an option to buy. It depends on whether Arsenal want to pursue an immediate, permanent transfer.
Either way, there does not appear to be any future for Aubameyang in North London – but he’s not likely to care all that much if clubs of Real Madrid and Barcelona’s calibre are sniffing around…
