Barcelona tipped to launch Cristiano Ronaldo swoop in transfer “madness”

Barcelona have been urged to try and sign Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo by a former presidential candidate.

Ronaldo is one of the finest players ever to pull on a Real Madrid shirt and was detested by the Barcelona fans throughout his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

His rivalry with Lionel Messi only deepened the hatred of the Catalan fanbase, but with Messi now having departed, is there now a place for Ronaldo at the Nou Camp?

Probably not, but the idea has been proposed by former presidential candidate Toni Freixa, who believes now is as good a time as any to bring Ronaldo to Barcelona.

Coming off the back of the craziest transfer window in recent memory, you can understand why Freixa would be reluctant to deem Ronaldo to Barcelona impossible.

Ultimately, anything is possible in the modern game and Man United’s struggles as of late could open the door for Ronaldo to leave, especially if they miss out on the Champions League.

Even if he were to depart, it’d be highly unlikely that cash-strapped Barcelona would be waiting in the wings to sign him, but ‘unlikely’ is not ‘impossible’…
