Barcelona are reportedly closing in on signing a second Chelsea defender – having already struck an agreement with Cesar Azpilicueta.
News broke earlier in the week via reputable Barcelona journalist Gerard Romero that the club were finalising a deal to sign Chelsea captain Azpilicueta when his contract ends in the summer of 2022.
Barca are now reportedly planning on inflicting further misery upon Thomas Tuchel, with SPORT reporting that Andreas Christensen is next on Joan Laporta’s transfer wish list.
The report claims that Christensen, despite various attempts from Chelsea to renew his contract, has no interest in signing a contract extension with the West London giants.

The Dane is understood to be entertaining the interest from Barcelona, with an agreement edging closer. Chelsea could be set to lose TWO defenders to the Catalan club, who are using the ‘Azpilicueta formula’ to entice Christensen, according to SPORT.
Considering Antonio Rudiger is also believed to be heading out of Stamford Bridge on a free transfer, there is a real crisis brewing for Tuchel and co in defence.
Marina Granovskaia often gets plaudits for Chelsea’s superb work in the transfer market, but you can’t help but feel as though she’s made an utter mess of this whole situation.
