Arsenal have learned how much they’ll have to pay to get a former Chelsea star through the door in the summer transfer window.
Many players have played for the two London rivals over the years, from Ashley Cole and Cesc Fabregas, to Petr Cech and Olivier Giroud. Despite the fierce rivalry, it’s not uncommon for the opposing colours to be donned by the same player.
According to Football London, Arsenal have every intention to lengthen that list, with those pulling the strings in the Gunners boardroom having been impressed with the form of Chelsea academy product Tammy Abraham at AS Roma.

Abraham has been scoring for fun in Rome, having been forced to leave Chelsea in search of regular first-team football. Arsenal transfer guru Edu is already thought to have made enquiries as to the possibility of signing him.
However, as per the report, Arsenal have been informed that it would take a MAMMOTH €80m in order to convince Roma to part ways with the man who has completely transformed their attack since his arrival.
Chelsea are understood to have a buyback option at the same price point, but that’s not due to kick in until 2023. It remains to be seen if Arsenal would be willing to pay over the odds to steal a march on their rivals.
