TWO midfielders are reportedly set to leave Arsenal when the summer transfer window opens later this year.
You get the impression that something special is brewing at the Emirates, with Mikel Arteta’s stewardship leading the charge into the Champions League qualification positions after several years away.
The money that he has been fortunate enough to be armed with in the transfer market has, of course, played a key role in creating this exciting young team, but the Spaniard has also been rather shrewd in those that he has let go.
Mesut Ozil and later Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were two of the most high-profile stars to be chopped from the squad, with Arteta seeing no place for them in the future of Arsenal, and it appears as though there’s more to follow.

That would considerably thin out the midfielders on Arsenal’s books, so you’d expect that to be an area where Arteta may look to splash the cash in the summer. On who, specifically, is unclear at this point.
