The Egyptian midfielder may be deemed ānot good enoughā to start by many but the context of his position in the squad is extremely important.
Arsenal is currently in an incredible position, they are five points clear at the summit of the Premier League with a game in hand over nearest rivals, Manchester City. It can be argued that if the Gunners are going to win the league, this is their best chance.

The team is extremely reliant on Thomas Partey and if he did happen to get an injury, it would completely dismantle Arsenalās title push. Although Elneny isnāt nearly as good as the Ghanaian, he can do a capable replacement.
Arteta hinted that the Egyptian had a āknee problemā in his latest press conference.
āMo is a player who never complains about anything. But letās see. He had some issues with his knee that we are assessing at the moment.ā he said.
If this is a serious injury then Artetaās hand would be forced and they would have to sign a midfield replacement.
They have been linked with the likes of Moises Caicedo and Declan Rice but one thing is for sure, whoever they sign wonāt be cheap.
