Arsenal have been charged by the FA after chaotic moment against Newcastle

The Gunners were held to a scoreless draw against Newcastle at the Emirates stadium on Tuesday night. The game wasn’t an end-to-end spectacle but rather a more conservative affair.

Newcastle was happy to sit back in their structure and repel any of Arsenal’s chances, although Joel Linton had a great opportunity but put his point-blank header wide.

Eddie Howe’s men tried to slow down the game as much as possible clearly to the frustration of the Arsenal players and manager.

The Gunners were denied a clear-cut penalty when Gabriel was hauled to the floor by Dan Burn inside the Newcastle area. Then in the 95th minute, a handball was waved away by the referee, which infuriated the Arsenal players who swarmed the referee.

The FA then officially released a statement on Friday saying that they would be punishing North London for this moment.

Arsenal can feel hard done by given that Newcastle players were also surrounding the referee.
