Arsenal have reportedly had a blockbuster £76m bid for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen REJECTED.

The Gunners look set to fall short of Champions League qualification following a late-season implosion. To make matters worse, it’s their bitter rivals Tottenham who are set to secure fourth place ahead of them.

Mikel Arteta and co can ill afford to sit around and lick their wounds. The preparations must begin to ensure there is no repeat next season and Arsenal get back into Europe’s premier club competition.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Arsenal have indeed wasted no time and launched a £76m bid for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen before the 2021/22 campaign has even drawn to a close.

However, as per the report, Napoli have rejected the bid and do not appear to have any intention of parting ways with Osimhen. Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis is a notoriously tough negotiator.

Arsenal may well have no choice but to look elsewhere in their efforts to strengthen their frontline this campaign. Paying £76m could already be considered over the odds – any more would just be farcical.
