Antonio Conte has revealed that he is not worried about Harry Kane after England was dumped out in the quarter-finals by France.

The England striker condemned his side to defeat when with only minutes remaining he skied his penalty a country mile over the bar. France would go on to win the game and the Three Lions were yet again sent home with nothing to show for their efforts.

A World Cup hangover can be a real issue for players, specifically for those that rely heavily on confidence. Missing the crucial penalty for the country must really hurt and can definitely have residual effects on your future performance.

However, the Tottenham Hotspur boss isn’t too worried about Kane’s confidence as he returns to club football.

“Honestly I am not worried about him. I saw him very well in these two days with us.” Conte said.

“We’re talking about a world-class striker.”

“For sure the first period you are sad, but then you know that you have to move on. Football gives you the opportunity to have other chances to enjoy football.”

Spurs will get their Premier League campaign back underway on the 26th when they play Brentford away from home.

The North London side will need Kane to be fit and firing as they have already been dealt a big injury blow with Richarlison out for a couple of weeks.
