Anthony Joshua has revealed that he would be open to the idea of taking an interim fight ahead of his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.
Joshua was expected to take on Usyk in April or May, with there having been a rematch clause in the fight agreement from their initial bout back in September.
With Usyk having won the fight convincingly and subsequently taken Joshua’s belts, a rematch provided the perfect opportunity for the Watford-born heavyweight to win them back.
However, Usyk is currently in Ukraine fighting for his country against the Russian invaders, which for obvious reasons, leaves it looking unlikely that he’ll fight Joshua anytime soon.
